A Day at the Beach

As a direct result of the incident Thursday night (see my Friday, May 26 post), we decided to exterminate this morning by setting off bug bombs in attic, house, and garage. This despite the rumor that has circulated in our neighborhood that the best we can do is exterminate for the run-of-the-mill pests (ants, roaches, fleas, etc.) which scorpions eat because there isn't a pesticide safe enough for residential use that kills scorpions themselves unless you spray it directly on them.

Since this obviously involves all of us leaving the house for a couple of hours, we decided to practice riding in the truck with the kitties by taking them to the beach. It was a little traumatic at first. Isaac protested being put in the truck by flaying Tommy's chest and shoulder. Once everyone was in, it was like a car full of little kids...when one of them started yelling, they all yelled. But everyone settled down after we got underway.

The tide was high, and the waves were pretty big. Unfortunately, there was a lot of seaweed on the beach and in the water which made walking around kind of unpleasant. Fortunately, there were lots of birds to watch!

When we got home there was a little misunderstanding about who should go inside first to open the windows and air out the house so it would be safe for the rest of us to go inside. But after a few minutes, we all went inside and had lunch. Now we're all lazing around listening to the rain and thunder outside. What a nice Sunday!
