Well, once again, it's been a while since I posted. We've been enjoying cool temps and changing colors in the backyard, not to mention a fire in the chiminea almost everynight...which was the basis of our recent injury crisis. Last Thursday, while cutting wood for our fires, Tommy had another chopsaw accident. This time he cut off a significant chunk of his left index finger between the first and second knuckle. Somehow, unbelievably, he didn't cut the bone or any ligaments and, according to the orthopedic surgeon we were referred to (the "best hand doctor in the state"), won't require any restorative surgery or skin grafts.
With a lot of relief, we spent some time outside today (before a positive follow up visit at the orthopedist) enjoying the last of the warm weather (73!) and the beautiful colors. I dug up the amaryllis bulbs and brought them in for the winter and planted the bulbs from the "royal purple" garden (with fingers crossed that they'll survive the winter and bloom in spring).
