Banned books week

It's banned books week (or maybe it was last week)...anyway it's been on my mind lately because we have a display of banned books in our library so when I saw this list of the Ten Most Disturbing Books I couldn't help but stop to peruse it. The only book on the list that I've read is Misery so I can't speak personally about any of them (not much of a horror fan anymore). But that one was pretty darn disturbing. After reading the synopses of the books on the list it really makes you wonder why people bother banning books like the Harry Potter series, the Twilight series, and the Golden Compass series when books like these exist. NOT that I'm in favor of banning ANY book.
