A weekend project

Since I'm off from classes for a couple weeks we decided to do a weekend home improvement project. We painted the deck and bench out back and built a table AND installed a fountain! Here's a brief, photo tour of our progress beginning with a couple of "before" pictures...

The first thing we did was install the fountain....

Next we built a table out of the old birdbath/plant stand and a border for the fountain and finally we painted everything. We had some help painting the porch in the form of Amber and Josh. They rescued us just as we ran out of steam with a long handled paint roller, lemonade and their own strength...thanks guys!

Finally, this morning, we put a final coat of paint on things and assembled the last bits of the fountain and the table. Tommy did most of the painting while I sifted the sand out of the rocks that went around the fountain. Here's what it looks like finished.

We still have to accessorize. We're trying to decide between wicker chairs or wrought iron chairs or wooden chairs to go next to the table. Then we'll add plants, etc. probably next weekend since that's my last weekend off until August.
