We've been watching NASA TV this week since the space shuttle Discovery took off again on Tuesday. Tonight we happened to be watching a replay of the docking with the space station and heard that the shuttle was going to pass right over Houston at about 7 pm. So I went to the sighting opportunities web site to find out exactly where and when to look and sure enough, we just watched it sail right over the beautiful full moon.
If you're in the Corpus Christi area be sure to head outside at about 7:30 pm tomorrow night (Friday, October 26)and look for a bright, fast moving object almost straight up. It will be moving from west to east and be visible for about 3 minutes. If you're not in Corpus, you can go to http://spaceflight1.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/cities/skywatch.cgi?country=United+States to pick your state and find out when you can see it.
