Home again

I arrived safely home from San Jose after a REALLY long day on Friday. We arrived at the San Jose airport at 7:00 am on Friday morning only to find our flight delayed by two hours and the next available flight into Corpus Christi wasn't going to get us home until 10 pm! So we enjoyed about three hours in the San Jose airport (which was just as well because the line for security was so long we found the end in the parking garage!) and another four hours at DFW.

On a happier note, we had lunch at the San Jose Museum of Art and had a few minutes to walk through their Camille Rose Garcia exhibit. Neither the images on their web page or the following YouTube video really capture the horrible fascination of this exhibit. I know that sounds cheesy but it's true. This is really disturbing art that you can't take your eyes off of. The shapes and colors are familiar and eye catching...and then you look more closely at what's going on, the interactions between the characters in the paintings and your stomache starts to churn. It reminded me of Dr. Seuss gone really, really wrong. All of which means that it must be pretty good since it inspired such a strong reaction. Anyhow, I highly recommend you have a look at it in person if you have a chance.
