Tommy's first project

You knew it was coming! Tommy hasn't quit talking about what he wants to do to the house and yard since we got here. So this week, while I was finishing organizing books in my office and in the living room, he went out front and did his first project, the one that's been driving him crazy (the most) since we got here: the crack between the front window and the ground. So here's what it looked like to start with:



Yes, the grass is greener (it was May and the temps hadn't been in the 100s for weeks on end) but, if you're Tommy, the crack under the big front http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifwindow ruins the look of the front of the house. So, here's what it looks like when he finished yesterday:



No more crack! The grass is a little browner (but not dead according to Willard, our 89 year old next door neighbor, so we should continue to water it.

P.S. If you really have a keen eye, you'll also notice that in the "before" picture the roof is pristine and in the "after" picture there's a pipe sticking out...that's the radon mitigation system that was installed just before we moved in.
