Vets and pets and kitty tranqs

Today is that happy day when the kitties go for their biannual senior wellness exams. Pauline and Isaac today, Virginia goes next week. Pauline was her sweet self and only got a little fiesty (their word) when they tried to shave her and take a blood sample. Isaac, as usual, is another story. We've learned to get tranquilizers the day before his vet visit and Tommy won that battle this morning - the pill eventually went down. The first thing the techs at the vet's did was try to take Isaac's blood. To make a long story short, they couldn't even get him out of his carrier (and had to put a towel over the top of it to carry him back to us because the top's just metal bars and he kept scratching them through the bars while they were carrying the cage!). SO, he's going back on Tuesday morning to be completely anesthetized so that the vet can clean his teeth, take his blood, give him his vaccines, and trim his toe nails. Wish us luck!
