Baby birds!

We discovered a nest in one of our ficus tress last week and have been watching the mocking bird couple who laid them closely every since. This past weekend, we saw the first of four babies. We've tried very hard both to stay away as much as possible and keep the cats away. We've restricted ourselves to one peek per day and tonight I tried a couple of pictures.

Here's the parents on the line above the back yard watching us all warily. It's hard to see but they both have food for the babies in their beaks.

Here's the best photo I got of the babies. I didn't want to use the flash (so as not to scare them) so, since it was a little cloudy, the shutter staid open too long for me to keep the camera perfectly steady. Result: a blurry picture. See their beaks in the middle?

Isaac, of course, is interested in the proceedings, but so far has not realized that there are babies in the tree.
