Preliminary qualifying exam

I'm about to start my preliminary qualifying exam for my degree. The program I'm in requires me to take two comprehensive exams as I work my way through my course work. I have to pass them both in order to continue working towards my degree. The first one starts tomorrow at 9 am. The first part is a take home test that I'll have from 9 am tomorrow morning until 6 pm Friday evening to complete. Then, in about three weeks, I go up to Denton to do the oral part of the exam which is basically a defense of the written part. At least I'll have a beautiful garden full of Dad's amaryllis to look at out the window of my office...
